Theophilos Museum Mytilene
The museum settled in the area named Varia, outside Mytilene, off the road to the airport. It was designed by the Lesbian architect Gianoulellis and built in 1964. The building was a donation of Stratis Eleftheriades (Teriade), an important Parisian art critic of Lesvos island. Inside the museum there are 86 works of the famous painter Theofilos, donation of Teriade also, from his personal collection to the Municipality of Mytilene.
The museum is not to be missed by anyone who travels around Lesvos. It can be combined during the summer with a visit to the Capital Mytiline and with a stop for a swim in Agios Ermogenis beach.
